Hemp Macel™ is a trademarked fibre created by Hempfortex. It uses the raw, fibrous parts of the hemp plant that can’t otherwise be used for fabric, and it’s woven or knitted into something lustrous and suuuuper soft.

What is Macel?
Macel is made using a method similar to how lyocell is created. The hemp is made into a pulp using a closed-loop, non-toxic solution, then the pulp becomes a yarn, and that yarn is woven or knitted into fabric.

Where you’ll find it
You’ll find Macel in our delicate fabrics, alongside cupro, lace and ultra-fine knits. They need a lighter touch than the rest of the range, so check the care guide before you wash. Read more about our fibres.
