Broadcasting Good Vibes from Japan

Built with hot days and balmy nights in mind, Afends presents their Summer 2017 Men’s Collection Broadcasting Good Vibes from Japan. This diverse range offers new hemp board shorts and tees, soft short sleeve shirts and classic Baywatch shorts all delivered in fresh colours and prints. To showcase the collection we sent mates Taj Richmond and Jordy Congdon to Japan for a surf and skate trip with our Japanese surf team rider Naomi Kobayashi to showcase the Mens Summer Collection. From typhoons, to sacred running festivals and all night Tokyo drinking sessions, the boys had a lot of fun taking in the eclectic Japanese culture.

Broadcasting Good Vibes from Japan features the new and improved Hemp 3.0 Fixed Waist Boardshort in three colours, including the seasonal Red Oil and the trusty Black Oil and Olive Oil. These shorts are made from 53% Hemp, 44% Recycled Poly, 3% Elastane making them highly environmentally friendly, non-GMO, made from stronger natural fibres and mould resistant. Best of all, they go buttery when wet and can be used in all water types. The fit is relaxed and designed for surfing in all conditions.

We also see a welcomed comeback of our signature Baywatch Boardshorts in new patterns and colourways such as white, tribal print and nostalgic acid washes. With an elastic waist and heavy drawstring, these boardshorts will stay securely in place while the short length means they won’t catch on your knees in the surf. Featuring mesh-lined pockets, an elasticated key loop & zip pocket for added security.

Photographer Nick Rapley went along for the ride to document what the guys got up to in our Summer range. Here’s some of the things the boys got up to…
