Each season we collaborate with a creative we love to develop art for a collection of clothing. We then create a spotlight on them and share with our community. See some of our favourite Create Not Destroy artist series’ below.
We have always been Inspired by counterculture movements of hippies, punks, musicians, skaters and surfers that we have lived and breathed our whole lives. Byron Bay has always had a special part to play in this. We’ll continue to use our brand as a pillar of support for sustainable initiatives, up-and-coming artists and musicians to professionals in surf and skate and reach for the alternative subcultures we’ve come from.
Our aim is to shine a spotlight on equality across the board and raise money for various charities to support, uplift and empower women locally and globally and ultimately help get the world to a point where we all share the same, equal rights. We work with all artists no matter their gender, just human beings with a shared passion for equality.
In recent years, we’ve been pushing a plastic-free agenda, aptly named ‘Fuck Plastic’, to reduce the use of plastics, help to raise awareness and educate on the problems surrounding plastic use. The goal is to ultimately eliminate the use of single-use plastics all together. By partnering with organisations and charities such as Plastic Free July, Sea Shepherd and Take 3 for the Sea, we’ve been able to spread awareness to over 2 million people globally, donated thousands of proceeds by clothing collaborations and fundraising, and contributed to educating over 300,000 people worldwide.

Shaun Edwards, Founder of the Indigenous fashion label,House of Darwin, invited us on a journey up to the top end to experience the raw beauty of the Northern Territory, the rich indigenous culture and their continued traditions - forming the foundation for our capsule collection.'Return to Earth' is our collaborative effort to inspire people to seek knowledge and join hands in the chorus of change.

Afterpay Australian Fashion Week2022 was an exciting milestone for the team here at Afends, marking our debut appearance on the runway. We were stoked to be part of Afterpay's Future of Fashion show, and walk alongside the stacked line-up of Australia's leading designers boasting the likes of P.E. Nation, Manning Cartell, Anna Quan, Cue, BLANCA, Rachel Gilbert, Oroton, Bondi Born, ESSE, Salt Murphy, Effie Kats and Kimbralou.
